Track & Field State Finals: LC Girls' Make the Podium in 4 Events

O'Neill finished 28th in the 300M hurdles in a time of 40.61; Perschon finished in 21st in the 3200M run in a time of 9:34.13. Much congratulations to both runners on their great seasons! The girls' track and field state finals was on Saturday. They had runners or field event participants in 7 of the events. Eight Lady Indians took part in the State Finals and 3 individuals, as well as one relay, made the podium. Sophomore Macey Thompson earned her way on the podium three times: Thompson finished 7th in the 800M in 2:12.83; she finished 6th in the 1600 in a time of 4:56.28. Thompson and the 4X800 relay team finished in 9th position in a time of 9:16.29. The relay team was made up of Brynn Hayes, Lana Bruggeman, Chloe Neal, and Macey Thompson. Freshman Lana Bruggeman finished in 27th place in the 3200; Bruggeman ran an 11:31.73. Amelia Hecht and Sophia Palmer participated in the hurdles. Hecht finished 23rd in the 100M hurdles in 15.9, and Palmer finished 11th in the 300M hurdles . Emma Reyes made the podium in 9th place in the discus with a throw of 135-03, and Delaney Oberholtzer just missed the podium and finished in 12th with a throw of 131-03. LC finished in 27th place as a team, and the future is bright with a majority of underclassmen making the trip.
