Volleyball--The Indians finished with a record of 12-2 in the DAC with a 3-set sweep at LaPorte and they'll play their final regular season contest at Kouts today. The Indians will play in the Illiana Christian Sectional next week. Lake Central 25 26 25 25 La Porte 19 28 15 16 Girls' Tennis--Lake Central played well but fell to the host Munster Mustangs 4-1 on Wednesday. Andie Schultz was victorious in the varsity match in #2 singles. LC is now 6-5 overall and 4-2. Keira Gordon won her JV match at singles and Adriana Bastaic and Macy Morris won at doubles. The Indians play Illiana Christian Monday. Unified Track & Field--Lake Central hosted a quadrangular meet on Thursday night. The teams participating included LC, Munster, Hobart, and Crown Point. Varsity Baseball--Lake Central got revenge on Chesterton defeating them 3-1 thanks to a complete game effort from Blake Sivak on the mound. He threw a gem and struck out 7. JV Blue Baseball--Andrew Brower went big fly in the 6th inning to tie the game on his 3-run HR. Lake Central erased a 3-0 deficit and walked it off on a Brower ground ball to SS with 2 outs in the 7th. Tyler Thuftedal and Anthony Sanchez each had two hits. Varsity Softball--The Indians are now 24-0 after a 14-0 victory over Portage. They've also climbed to #8 Nationally in USA Today's prep coverage: https://usatodayhss.com/2024/usa-today-sports-nfca-high-school-softball-rankings-super-25-week-9 Moira Falli, Jolie Adams, MaKayla Van Vossen, Madi Bickell, and Taylor Schafer had multi-hit games. Maddie Such threw a 5-inning no-hitting and K'd 8. JV Softball--The Blue Indians run-ruled the Red Indians on Wednesday. Sophia Cembala was the winning pitcher. Piper Urbanski had 4 hits; Abigail Grenchik, Peyton Martin, and Kyrie Pollack had 3 hits each. Martin homered.
