**Girls' Soccer Blanks Hanover Central JV--Lake Central 8 HC 1 V--Lake Central 2 HC 0 The Lake Central girls' soccer program picked up two non-conference wins on the road at Hanover Central. The varsity Indians had a strong first half scoring two good team goals. Lexi Karabatsos scored the first goal with an assist from Pavton Silvas. Emma Murphy scored the second with an assist from Izzy Burnett. Liv Kleckner and the defense earn another shut out. The junior varsity Indians were lead by a hat trick from Natalie Rivera. Emma Szwajnos, Quinn Shank, Ady Miller, Ava Baker and Marilyn Gutierrez all scored a goal. Aubrey Harrmann, Layla Thompson, Natalie Rivera and Ady Miller assisted the goals. LC is now 5-2 overall and will host Warsaw (8-1) on the football field Saturday. **Volleyball Earns Two Home Wins Against Merrillville The Lake Central volleyball team earned a pair of wins in a Duneland Athletic Conference match against Merrillville. The junior varsity started things off well with a 2-0 sweep of the Pirates. The varsity followed suit, on middle school celebration night, knocking off the Pirates in straight sets. LC is now 4-1 in the DAC. The Indians were led by Kailey Skurka’s 10 kills and 4 aces; Alina Williams' 10 kills; and Sloan Degnan’s 19 assists and 5 aces. The girls will travel to Hamilton Southeastern for the Southeastern Showcase on Saturday.
