Lake Central Volleyball's Academic Prowess Shows in IHSVCA Postseason Honors The Lake Central girls’ volleyball program capped off its season with an impressive showing in the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA) postseason awards, highlighting both athletic and academic achievement. Alexis Iwema Named to North All-District Team Senior standout Alexis Iwema was selected as one of just 12 players to earn North All-District honors. Iwema’s all-around play and consistency were key components of Lake Central’s success this season, and her selection places her among the elite players in Northern Indiana. Five Players Earn Academic All-State Gold Status Lake Central also excelled in the classroom, with five athletes earning Academic All-State Gold Status, the highest academic distinction awarded by the IHSVCA. To achieve Gold Status, student-athletes must hold a weighted GPA of 3.75 or higher.
